Gamma radiation proportional counters (IRSN/Teleray)
Two probes from the TELERAY network are installed at PDM and CRA stations. Every 10 minutes, these detectors measure the ambient gamma equivalent dose rate in the environment near the probe. Currently these probes are equipped with proportional counters allowing very good measurement sensitivity.
Each of these measurements is transmitted in real time to the IRSN Remote Sensing Laboratory based in Vésinet near Paris where experts analyze it. An expert is on call 24/7 and is alerted in the event of an anomaly detected by the supervision system.
The TELERAY network is made up of 490 probes (on 01/01/2024) installed throughout France (metropolitan and DROM-COM). The latest measurement is available in real time on the site https://teleray.irsn.fr/#mappage and complete data series since 2009 at PDM and 2020 at CRA are available on the site https://www.mesure-radioactivite.fr/#expert (research keys in “commune” (city) field: LANNEMEZAN for CRA and BAGNERES-DE-BIGORRE for PDM).
